The Artist of Distinction Awards are given to Minnesota musicians, industry pro’s, and technicians whose talent and contributions to the music community are beyond exceptional. Their skill, passion, attitude and level of commitment to their projects have set them apart in a sea of competitive and often underappreciated artists. Sound Unseen is proud to present the second annual awards to three artists whose contributions have been felt world wide, while they make Minneapolis their home and continue to share their craft with thousands.

Out of the past and into the future, SOUND UNSEEN is at it again, with diverse interests and an insatiable appetite for unearthing unseen connections. The festival’s search for the marriage of music and film remains unrivaled as it continues with the mission of showcasing music’s rebels, innovators and unsung heroes. We begin with another installment from the vast collection of footage shot by local legend Rick Fuller, this time exploring 7 nights at MPLS’ own 7th street entry in the early eighties. A film certain to reconstruct, in sounds and images, a not so distant past in our own back yard. But Sound unseen has never limited its scope to these Twin Cities. We search and rescue, to borrow a metaphor from a recently departed Twin Cities film program, the history of unsung hero of British cinema Peter Whitehead, whose LET’S ALL MAKE LOVE IN LONDON, (more…)
