img_7779-copy.jpg

I am transplant from Milwaukee where I learned to drink and began to ride bikes. Moved to Minneapolis and was taught how to ride by some of the best. Fell in love with the culture and most of the people and am here for now. Spreading the word of the “Church of 2 Wheels” to those who don’t know and have so much to discover, and drinking. I enjoy most live music, Irish whiskey, cheap beers and dirty girls, WedNiteRides, I’m on a Steinbeck kick right now , Rocky Road ice cream (preferably Bryers), and riding in the rain, if, I’m on the way home to a hot shower and my Labradorable, 13 year old, dog, Gilbert, my best friend.

Publicity - Rachel Joyce

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

rlj2.JPGRachel Lee Joyce (aka DJ Nite Nurse) is a music and arts publicist and world music DJ. She spends her leisure time during the Vikings off season watching ESPN with the sound down and the dancehall reggae turned up.
A Minneapolis native, she got her start in music while in high school booking the long-since-demolished McCready’s Pub in downtown Minneapolis and throwing all ages punk shows. Rachel attended the University of Minnesota and originally majored in Making Money until she heard a record by African music legend Fela and decided to use her powers of persuasion and persistence to help artists get their work exposed and messages heard as a publicist. In addition to her work as a publicist, she is co-host of the Shake & Bake Show on KFAI, an organizer Afrifest, a board member of DEMO, and a volunteer ESL instructor. When people question her unusual passion for both art and sports, she is quick to point out “Boxing is just choreography with consequences.” She would love to tell you all about it over a Powers whiskey neat at Grumpy’s.

Cartoon character I would most like to be: Popeye. Days filled with drinking, brawlin’, hanging by the docks and a legacy of fried chicken & biscuits. “I Yam What I Yam!”

Super Power I would most like to have: Memory Erasing Kiss

Eve is a recent graduate of Macalester College and is enjoying life in the “real world”. As a California girl who’s called five area codes, three states, one federal district, and two continents home in the last 10 years, she’s looking forward to spending some quality time in Minneapolis for a while. She likes to look at pictures of puppies to relax and loud music to blow off some steam.

Cartoon character: Nermal from Garfield.

Why? To be the cutest kitten in the world with a free trip to Abu Dhabi.

Super Power: Omni-linguism. Kind of like Jason Bourne.

glasses.JPG

Marina Maric was born and raised under the benevolent Communist regime of former Yugloslavia, where she learned to operate a Kalashnikov rifle by the age of 7. She left her native Bosnia-Herzegovina at 25 to seek higher education in Minnesota, graduating from the College of St. Benedict in 2007. This is her second year with Sound Unseen. So far she enjoys the trappings of Western life: chewing gum, Woody Allen, the Food Network, Geico cavemen, etc. Her English is probably better than yours.

If you could be any cartoon character who would it be and why?
Dee Dee form Dexter’s Laboratory because like her, I love ponies, dolls and unicorns. I also like to cause trouble and never get punished for it

- If you could have any super power, what would it be?
I want to be able to stop time just like that guy in the classic Twilight Zone episode. I wouldn’t steal though, I would just sleep longer in the morning.
