“Bennett merges the witty, dexterous play of hip-hop turntablism and sampledelia with the more scowling and self-consciously artful recombination of the avant-garde.”
The San Francisco Bay Guardian

People Like Us, a.k.a. Vicki Bennett, presents a digital audiovisual performance that exposes a surreal world of bad connections and faulty communications where interviewees, lost movie and television stars, and found sounds become trapped in a misfiring loop of reference and repetition. In the tradition of fellow Plunderphonic artists John Oswald, Negativland, and the Tape Beatles, Bennett guarantees a vibrant, pirated, multimedia experience.
