Daniel Bitton, 2001, 59 Minutes
"I'm Wesley Willis. I play music and do art. I have schizophrenia. I'm the daddy of rock and roll!" Willis is a true underground music hero: 320 pounds of head-butting, unvarnished musical genius. He has over 400 recorded songs to his credit, including titles like "I'm sorry I got fat," "I whupped Batman's ass," and "Suck my dog's dick." An esteemed resident of north side Chicago who now tours almost constantly, Willis creates music to keep away his three hellride demons - Nervewrecker, Heartbreaker and Meansucker - and to stay true to his harmonic joyride. With his first film, Bitton has constructed an intimate, honest portrait of determined survival.
